Thanks to my desire to hold my breath for an absurd amount of time, my love for diving began. I took these pictures on a trip to Raja Ampat (Four Kings), near Papua New Guinea with a small camera in a waterproof housing. The trip was amazing. One of my favorite creatures is the Nudibranch which is sometimes referred to as a “sea slug”. I literally spent 45 minutes on a dive just staring at his iridescent colors. Getting familiar with the ocean must be like exploring outer space. There are so many beautiful creatures under water that I never imagined could exist. Another one of my favorite creatures is the Mantis Shrimp, which is the third picture down. This species’ red claws move as fast as a bullet and can shatter your mask or camera lens if you come too close. For me, watching these animals and seeing what they do is actual magic.
